Everything you need to know about booking, writing, and releasing successful computers advertisements.
What it costs, what to put in it, and how the booking works — for a single machine or a shop full of them.
Classified text is charged per line, so a tight specification and a phone number is the cheapest way in. Classified display is charged per sq.cm — that is the format to take if you want a photo of the machine, your shop's logo, a border or colour, and the price follows the size you choose. Both are per insertion, plus 5% GST. The rate finder above shows the real figure for your paper and edition at official rates, lowest-price guaranteed, before you share anything.
Lead with what a buyer screens on: make and model, processor, RAM, storage, screen size, age, condition, whether the bill and charger are with you, and the price you want. Then locality and a phone or WhatsApp number. For a shop, swap the specification for what you actually do — sales, upgrades, on-site repair, AMC — plus the address and hours. Send it in any order and we set it in the paper's format.
Yes, but only in a display format — classified text columns are words only. Classified display and full display both accept an image, and are charged per sq.cm rather than per line, so a small display block costs more than a few classified lines. If you have the artwork ready, send it and we check it against the paper's size and format rules; if you do not, tell us what you want on it.
An ad runs only in the editions you choose and each covers specific districts. For a used machine or a repair service the buyer has to be able to reach you, so the city edition is usually the right and cheapest answer; a dealer or an institute with several branches may want two or three editions. Tell us where your buyers are and we confirm the coverage before you pay.
Print is read the morning it lands, so one insertion is one day's visibility. For a single machine, one or two insertions is usually enough to know whether the price is right. For a shop, institute or dealer, a short repeated schedule works better than one large ad — each insertion is charged separately at the same rate.
Most papers have a same-day or next-morning cut-off, so booking before the cut-off gets you into the next day's edition. Display space books out earlier than classified lines, so leave a day or two of margin if your ad carries a photo. We confirm the exact cut-off for your paper and edition before you pay.
Yes — free. Send the details in any language and we draft the wording, trim it to the paper's line limit, translate it into the paper's language and show you a proof before it prints. Technical terms and model numbers stay as they are; only the surrounding words are translated.
After publication you can view your ad in that paper's e-paper, or buy a local copy of the edition. You also get a GST invoice for the booking.
