Newspapers ask for proof on a fresh obituary to prevent hoax ads. We accept the common alternatives, and a remembrance needs nothing at all.

Any one of these is accepted as proof:
Death certificate (BMC / municipal)
Doctor's note or hospital letter
Cremation-ground / burial certificate
Certificate delayed or unavailable? It often is. Talk to the desk — in most cases a doctor’s note or cremation-ground slip lets the ad run on time.
Remembrance, anniversary, prayer meeting
No document needed
An in-memoriam, death-anniversary, birth-centenary or prayer-meeting ad can be placed freely — just send the wording and photograph.
Many families don’t realise this — a yearly remembrance never requires a certificate, so it can be booked the moment you’re ready.

An obituary or remembrance ad is usually a display ad with a photograph and a verse, priced by size (per square centimetre) — so the cost depends on how large it is, the paper and the edition, plus 5% GST. A small notice in a regional paper can be a few hundred rupees; a larger tribute in a national daily costs more. Pick your paper for the exact size-based rate.
You choose the size, from a few lines up to a large boxed tribute with a photo and verse. We show you a proof of exactly how it will appear on the page — the photograph, the wording and the spacing — before anything is booked, so you can make it as small or as prominent as feels right.

A fresh obituary needs proof of passing — a death certificate, doctor's note or cremation-ground certificate. A remembrance or death-anniversary ad needs no document at all.
An obituary can usually appear the next day if booked before that paper's cut-off; a remembrance can be set for the exact anniversary date. Tell us the day it needs to run and we will make sure it appears on the day that matters.
A newspaper prints several editions, each covering specific districts. Before you pay we show which edition reaches the community you want to inform, so it is seen where it should be.
Book and pay online — UPI, card or net-banking, with a GST invoice emailed to you. After it runs you can view the ad in the newspaper's e-paper for the date and edition, or buy a printed copy from a local newsstand to keep.
