Astrology Ad Guide & FAQ

Everything you need to know about booking, writing, and releasing successful astrology advertisements.

Common questions

Advertising an astrology practice — answered

What it costs, what the ad can say, and how the booking works — plus one answer for readers who arrived looking for a horoscope.

Cost & the ad itself 03 QUESTIONS
What you pay and what it says
Q. How much does an astrology ad cost in the newspaper?

Classified text is charged per line, so a compact ad — name, what you practise, locality, timings, phone — is the cheapest way in. Classified display is charged per sq.cm and is what lets you take a photo, a border, a larger name or colour, so the price follows the size you choose. Both are per insertion, plus 5% GST. The rate finder above shows the real figure for your paper and edition at official rates, lowest-price guaranteed, before you share anything.

Q. What should an astrologer's ad contain?

The things a reader needs in order to decide and then reach you: your name or the name of the practice, what you actually do — jyotish, numerology, palmistry, vastu, pooja and havan — where you sit or whether you consult by phone, your timings, and one number. If you have a sample ad from an earlier insertion, send it and we will match the shape; if not, tell us these details in any language and we draft it.

Q. Classified text or display?

Classified text is right for a standing ad you repeat month after month, because the per-line cost keeps it affordable. Display is worth it when you want to be found at a glance on a crowded page, or when you want a photo and your name set large. Many practices start with classified lines and move to a small display block once they know which paper and edition their callers come from.

Rules & reach 03 QUESTIONS
What the paper allows, and who sees it
Q. Is there anything the paper will not print?

Newspapers set their own limits on advertising wording, and desks are careful about ads that promise a guaranteed outcome. Write it as what you practise and offer rather than as a promise, and it usually goes through unchanged. We show you a proof before it prints, and if the paper's desk asks for a change in wording we come back to you rather than altering it ourselves.

Q. Which edition should I book?

An ad runs only in the editions you choose, and each covers specific districts. Since a consultation means the reader has to visit you or ring you, the city edition is usually the right answer and the cheapest; take more editions only if you genuinely consult across a region or by phone. Tell us where you practise and we confirm coverage before you pay.

Q. How often should the ad run?

Print is read the morning it lands, so a single insertion is a single day's visibility. Practices that advertise steadily tend to take short repeated insertions on the same weekday rather than one large ad, so that the same reader sees the name more than once. Each insertion is charged separately at the same rate, and multi-insertion bookings are quoted before you pay.

Booking, proof & one mix-up 03 QUESTIONS
Paying, knowing it ran, and a common wrong turn
Q. Can you write or translate the ad for me?

Yes — free. Send the details in any language and we draft the wording, trim it to the paper's line limit, translate it into the paper's language and show you a proof before it prints. Nothing is booked until you approve that proof.

Q. How do I know it ran, and how do I pay?

After publication you can view your ad in that paper's e-paper, or buy a local copy of the edition, and you get a GST invoice for the booking. Payment is online in minutes — UPI/QR, card, net-banking or NEFT/RTGS via a secure link. releaseMyAd is the INS-accredited online booking platform for 280+ dailies and has booked ads since 2009.

Q. I came here looking for today's horoscope — can you help?

Not directly, and it is worth saying plainly: we book advertisements in newspapers, we do not write or publish horoscope columns. A paper's daily prediction is editorial, written by the paper itself, so the place to read it is that newspaper's own e-paper or astrology page. This page is for astrologers, numerologists and palmists who want to advertise their own practice.
